OUR STORY

KP Squared_edited.jpg

My family and I started the non-profit, KK Fearless, in February 2018 following the one-year anniversary of the death of my sister, Krystle. Krystle was 27 years old when she succumbed to her opiate addiction, but she was so much more than that. Krystle was a vibrant, loving, giggly, smart, talented, human being who suffered with the disease of addiction. Unfortunately, less than three years later, in November 2020, my brother Kevan fell to his addiction as well. Kevan was about to turn 30 before the disease took him away from us. Kevan was kind, gentle, talented, loving, and an exceptional fisherman!

Sadly, their stories are not unique. The CDC's National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) reported in 2022 that 109,680 Americans lost their life from a drug overdose in one single year, and the numbers continue to rise. KK Fearless was created, first and foremost, in remembrance of the lives of my sister and brother. However, they are just the outlet that helps bring individuals to their own path of recovery.

KK Fearless knows how important music is to all individuals, but also the therapeutic benefits it brings to those addressing their physical and emotional needs to combat their addiction. That's why our goal is to spread the word by hosting benefit concerts where we can use the proceeds to donate musical instruments to local treatment facilities so their residents can utilize music as a tool that will assist them on their path to recovery.

With your help, we can support hundreds of individuals to overcome their addiction, strengthen their recovery, and break the stigma attached to this disease so more individuals are encouraged to get the help they need.

Thank you for your support!

BENEFIT SHOW 2021

It has arrived! The video of our first donation drop off at Harvest Farms rehab with Denver Rescue Mission. One of the greatest things that happened during this drop off was being able to speak to some of the residents at this facility and hear how music has aided them on their path to recovery! They also had a resident volunteer to teach a music theory class. But wait… there’s more! Some of the residents decided to create a band with all the instruments that were given! This was such a great experience and I know Krystle and Kevan would have loved it!

Thank you to All Digital Photo and Video for your support and being there to capture this memorable experience! And much thanks to Pandas & People for being there to share this experience with us. And of course thank you to everyone who helped make this happen!
